UK Intellectual Property Office launch a new consultation in respect of certain copyright exemptions which apply to playing recorded music in public

The UK Intellectual Property Office is launching a consultation on proposed changes to copyright exemptions which currently apply to charitable and not-for profit organisations playing recorded music in public. The Music Licensing Copyright Exemptions consultation launches 1 July 2008 and closes on 31 October 2008.

The consultation document is available on IPO's website at http://www.ipo.gov.uk/consult-musiclicensing.htm. The Commission encourages all charities who use recorded music to look at and respond to the consultation.
