The Regulator for Charities in England and Wales
This page lists all current, recent and forthcoming consultation exercises conducted by the Commission. It consists of four sections:
This is in line with the current Code of Practice on Consultation, published by the Cabinet Office in January 2004, which applies to all consultations begun after 1st April 2004. Consultations which began prior to 1st April 2004 should comply with the previous Code of Practice on Written Consultation published by the Cabinet Office in November 2000. Both the current and previous Codes can be accessed at www.cabinet-office.gov.uk/regulation/consultation/index.asp
There is also a centrally held register of all consultations which are currently being, or have recently been, conducted by all Government departments. This can be viewed at www.consultations.gov.uk

*Important Information related to the consultation "Charity Registration - When should it be voluntary?"
Our work on this issue was suspended pending publication of the Strategy Unit's report "Public Action, Private Benefit". The report was published on 25 September 2002. To allow time for new arrangements to be put in place the time limited Excepting Regulations have now been extended for five years until 1 October 2007.
